Are you looking for a friendly and dependable bike rack right now? If you often go on a trip and want to bring along your bike, installing a bike rack on the back of your car can be an excellent idea.
However, choosing the right bike rack can be quite tricky. It would help if you made sure that the bike rack is durable enough to last through weather abuse—an excellent plus point if it is easy to install.
Right now, two popular bike rack models are in the same price range: Kuat NV and Thule T2 Pro. Should you go with Kuat NV or Thule T2 Pro? See the comparisons below!
Design
Kuat NV is a famous bike rack model loved because of its durability, ease of installation, and stylish look. The bike rack has an integrated repair stand, cable lock and hitch lock, and the Hand-Tight Cam System.
The bike rack can hold two bikes independently, but you can install the add-on if you want to increase the capacity to four. The frame construction is highly rugged and durable, and it also features a gray metallic finish with orange anodizing. The maximum wheelbase is 48 inches and is available in 1.25” and 2” hitch sizes.
Thule T2 Pro also has a capacity of two bikes, with an add-on available to increase the capacity. It features a tool-free auto-attach installation for easy and quick installation and removal.
The sophisticated design also has a hitch switch lever that allows you to tilt the rack up/down when the frame is not used, allowing you to quickly access the rear of your vehicle. There are indeed integrated cable locks and lock knobs to secure the bikes. It can hold bikes with 20-29” wheels.

Performance
Both models are straightforward and quick to install. Thule T2 Pro has a slightly better edge due to the auto-attach system, but Kuat NV is also nearly effortless to mount. Both models also secure the bikes very well.
Unfortunately, though, the users of Thule T2 Pro have reported that Thule T2 Pro could be more durable to stand against weather conditions. Many parts can get rusty quickly if exposed to rain and snow. They ask you to get replacement parts if you don’t want the bike rack to break on the road. Kuat NV is much more durable and reliable, as the model has finished all the parts to protect them against environmental conditions.
