Garmin has launched a new model GARMIN Colorado 300, a portable GPS receiver with high sensitivity and extensive features aimed at those who practice outdoor activities, including performing mountain crossings or enjoying mountain biking, as lovers of sailing.
Among other models, GARMIN Colorado 300 incorporates a cursor wheel, which allows control of all the menus with one hand. Also, depending on their activity, you can customize your computer and choose which of the five modes you wish to configure: automotive, marine, outdoor, fitness, and geocaching.
The weight of the Garmin Colorado 300 is 200 g. The screen is TFT high-resolution color three inches; the Colorado 300 is equipped with a 3D worldwide base map with shaded relief detail. It also has a Micro SD slot for standard SD cards up to 4GB in which you can store and view any of the maps that Garmin markets, further comprising the maps that end users can build their own. Thus, we can use the CityNavigator maps for driving with the car, Topographic maps for maps of IGN on the screen, and nautical charts BlueChart.
An exciting option is the possibility of waypoints, tracks, and geocaches with other users quickly and easily. The team also supports GarminConnect, an online community where users can save their routes and activities, plus share.
In addition, Colorado 300 supports GPX files for direct download geocaching coordinates; this activity, which began as a minority-based entertainment treasure hunt by coordinates, has become a viral game among mountain lovers and 4x4s, especially on the Internet.
The routes, waypoints, tracks, and geocaches series include features such as an electronic compass, barometric altimeter, temperature sensor, and image viewer. This equipment also collects heart rate and cadence information as it is compatible with a heart rate monitor and a speed sensor/cadence.
